Why QC Photos Are Your Most Important Safety Net

The warehouse QC stage is your only chance to catch issues before the item ships internationally. Once you approve the QC photos and the item leaves the warehouse, returns are expensive or impossible. The QC photos are taken by the warehouse team under warehouse lighting. They are not professional product shots. They are functional documentation. Learn to read them effectively and you will avoid most bad purchases.

The warehouse inspection is basic. The team checks that the item matches the link you submitted, that the size and color are correct, and that there are no obvious defects. They do not verify factory accuracy against retail references. They do not judge quality on a nuanced scale. They flag obvious problems like wrong color, wrong size, or visible damage. The detailed quality judgment is your responsibility. Use the QC photos, the spreadsheet notes, and Reddit references to make that judgment.

General QC Checklist: Apply to Every Item

• Color accuracy: Compare the color in the QC photo to the factory album and the retail reference. Warehouse lighting is fluorescent, which can shift colors. Look for major discrepancies, not minor tint variations.
• Size and fit: Check that the item matches the size you ordered. For shoes, compare the insole length measurement. For clothing, check the flat measurements if provided.
• Construction quality: Look for loose threads, uneven stitching, or misaligned seams. These are easy to spot in photos and are common on budget batches.
• Logo and branding: Compare the logo placement, font, and spacing to retail reference photos. This is the most common flaw on replica items.

How to Request Additional QC Photos

If the initial QC photos are unclear or do not show the details you need, request additional photos. Be specific about what you want to see. Saying more photos is less helpful than saying a close-up of the heel tab from the left side. The warehouse team will take the photos you request. There may be a small fee for additional photos, but the cost is minimal compared to the value of catching a flaw before shipping.

Common requests include close-ups of the logo, the interior tag, the hardware, and the stitching. For shoes, request photos of the outsole and the insole. For clothing, request photos of the interior seams and the wash tag. For accessories, request photos of the hardware and the interior lining. These are the areas where flaws are most common and most impactful.

When to Reject an Item Based on QC

Reject the item if the color is wrong, the size is wrong, or there is obvious damage. These are clear-cut cases. Also reject if the flaw is something you cannot accept. A minor stitching imperfection on the interior might be acceptable. A misaligned logo on the front is not. Use the spreadsheet notes as your standard. If the notes warn about a specific flaw and your QC shows that flaw, consider rejecting.

Rejection is free if the item is wrong or damaged. The warehouse will return it to the seller and refund your payment.
